Nipapron Meeking,32, decided to visit a low-budget cosmetic tattoo clinic in Rayong province after her friend suggested the place since she wanted to get her eyebrows done. According to NextShark, she paid 1,500 baht($41) and received the tattoo but was stunned by what she saw in the mirror.  The incident resulted in her staying home for a year until another tattoo offered to have the tattoo removed.

“I remember planning a trip with my friends and wanting new eyebrows to look pretty. A friend suggested a shop for me. After the procedure, I looked in the mirror and was speechless.”

“After seeing Nipapron’s condition, I knew I had to help her. It normally costs 15,000 Thai baht [approximately $410] but I’m willing to do it for free,” he said in an interview.

The clinic was also closed down the following day when Nipapron wanted the error to be fixed and she said the entire situation messed with her self-esteem. It will take about three months for the old ink from the tattoo to be completely removed from the skin but the young woman says the new session has helped her regain confidence.

“I had a terrible time living with four eyebrows on my forehead, but luckily I found this new tattoo artist. With this new artist, I can finally live a normal life,”

Is permanent tattoo makeup safe? Medical sources say it depends on the procedure and materials used

Although Nipapron had a solution to the botched tattoo job, WebMd says permanent makeup has surgical risks just like any other procedure. It’s scientifically called micro pigmentation as it is similar to a tattoo since it involves a needle.

“Iron oxide has been shown to be the safest pigment. Anything that is vegetable based, organic, or natural is the most risky. It’s the natural products in vegetables and herbs that can cause horrible allergic reactions.”

“What I’ve seen has been very poorly done. You can’t be sure what the color is going to do, and if you get an allergic reaction, you’re dealing with a large surface area. You’re talking about major reconstructive face surgery,” said American Academy of Micropigmentation (AAM) chairman Charles S. Zwerling, MD.

Granulomas can also develop in the skin as inside tissue can cause scar tissue to grow and cause keloids. However, this happens more with the removal of permanent makeup.
