Holly Garcia,33,posted the crowdfunding page claiming her four-year-old sin died of cancer and asked for $5,000 in funeral expenses. However, her plan was discovered when the boy’s adopted family caught wind of the page and contacted police. Investigators also revealed she created several pages and asked for over $11,000.
Garcia gave up her parental rights back in June before making the various pages. One of the pages claimed her son was going blind and she needed the expenses since his father died.

There was another page claiming Garcia needed a stroller for her two-month-old son who was premature along with another campaign saying she was four months pregnant and needed an apartment.Prosecutors said Garcia did not receive any money before the company took down the pages.
‘The campaigns were ended by the company after being notified by law enforcement that they were not legitimate. Garcia did not receive any contributions before they were taken down.’
Garcia was charged with computer criminal activity and attempted theft by deception after her arrest on September 24. She was free from court last week after a hearing at the Superior Court in Mount Holly.
