A woman from North Carolina dialed 911 and complained that pulled pork was “undercooked” when brought to her.

Because her pulled pork at Clyde Cooper’s BBQ restaurant was pink, the customer, Annie Cooke, decided to phone the Raleigh police. The owner of the establishment, Debbie Holt, said she found the incident amusing since she informed Cooke that smoked barbequed pork turns pink, but the customer insisted that her meal wasn’t cooked thoroughly enough. Cooke was allowed to switch to white chicken, but she fled the establishment and dialed 911 immediately.
“Every barbecue I’ve had is all the way done; you don’t see pink at all,” she explained. “I asked if they could cook it some more, that I’m not eating any pink barbecue. They said it’s supposed to be pink, but I’ve never had it that way,” Cooke explained to The News & Observer.

Cooke told the 911 director that her BBQ food was pink and wanted the staff to cook her food more or exchange it.
I had ordered some food from there, and the BBQ is pink. I asked for either for them to cook it some more or exchange my order. They are saying that the meat is supposed to be pink. I asked for them to change my order, and they said they are not giving me my money back or they are not going to trade out the food.”
When police arrived at the restaurant, Holt said they were immediately on her side and also rolled their eyes at the situation. “When the cop came in, though, he had a cute little smile in his face and rolled his eyes and just had his arms folded,” she further explained.
Cooke gave the restaurant a one-star rating on Google after the incident, but Holt believed the client should have done more research on Southern-style BBQ. After Cooke’s 911 call became viral on social media, there were additional one-star reviews about the restaurant.
“I have never visited this establishment. I read an article on N&O and thought I would take a look at the reviews. To my surprise, several 5 star reviews in the last 24 hours in an effort to raise the score from the 1 star review recently received. In reading the customers review and looking at the picture, the food looked rather horrible. What disappointed me most was the business responding to the customer and referring to the customer as ignorant. Very unnecessary and unprofessional.”
“Would NOT recommend their catering service! Never got ALL the left over pig that I paid for. This company is just like others where they really don’t care after the money has been collected. Update to their reply: Yes, I called to speak with someone and nobody called me back. I had multiple witnesses that can tell me your lying! You didn’t leave all the food because I had a guest ask me why the caterer was asking if they wanted any pig that was leftover at the end of the night. He showed them the grill that had a lot still on the pig. I even had over 100 to go containers for the rest. But, he was too confused to understand what to do. 10/10 would NOT recommend!”
