Yikes! A woman was arrested and removed from a Frontier Airlines flight for arguing with crew members after “jokingly” refusing to comply with exit row instructions. Her seat in the exit row requires her to help others in case of an emergency on the plane, however, she refused to give a verbal “yes” and “jokingly” told flight attendants, “I’m saving myself only.”

In a viral TikTok video posted on May 9, travel blogger Travel with Tia, who goes by the handle @travelwithtia23, shared how an unidentified woman argued with Frontier Airlines cabin crew members on a flight from North Carolina’s Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

During the incident, the woman appeared very combative with flight attendants after initially “joking” about not wanting to help fellow passengers in case of an emergency as she was seated in the plane’s exit row. As the argument continued, the woman’s fellow passengers pleaded with her to just get off the plane so they could take off.

In another video, Tia explained, “This lady right here, when she first got on the plane and acknowledged that she was in an exit row, she said, ‘Oh, I’m not going to save anybody. If something happens, I’m going to save myself. first.’ I’m not sure if the flight attendants heard that or not, but that was her attitude throughout the seating process. And I already knew something was about to pop off when she had that attitude.”

Tia continued to say, “This may have been her first time in an exit row, so she did not understand or did not realize or want to understand that the flight attendant has to get a verbal ‘yes’ from everyone when you are going through the drill and she had the attitude with giving the verbal ‘yes’ because she thought shaking her head was sufficient and didn’t realize or didn’t want to realize why she had to give a verbal ‘yes.'”

Tia added, “And at that point, she started getting an attitude with the flight attendant, calling her outside of her name. And when the other flight attendant tried to calm her down and tried to explain the process, she also got called outside of her name. So, at that point, that’s when the flight attendant said, ‘You know what? You have to get off this flight, and that’s when they called the manager to escort her off the flight, which she refused.”

Tia continued, “When she refused, someone else, who worked for the airline, tried to get her to get off and she gave a ‘no.’ The pilot then came to get her off and she said ‘no.’ So, at that point, the police came and got her and we had to get off the flight before then.”

In a third video explaining what happened, Tia clarified with viewers that the unnamed woman wasn’t arrested or removed from the Frontier Airlines plane because she refused to comply with the exit row instructions, but “because of her attitude” and how “unruly” and combative she was with crew members and police officers.
