Woman Arrested For Hitting Black Cyclist Because He “Needed A Pass To Ride On Pier”

An Illinois “Karen”  was arrested after harassing a black man, claiming that he needed a ‘parking’ pass to walk along a public pier.

The incident occurred on Monday between Otis Campbell and Irene Donoshaytis, and was caught on camera.

Irene seemed to have an issue with Otis riding his bike on the pier, claiming that it was only for residents who pay to live here.

A female employee clarifies that this is not the case,

“So to get into the beach itself, to walk on the beach, you do have to have a pass,” the female staffer says. “But to walk up and down this driveway and onto the pier, you don’t need a pass.”

Donoshaytis, 65, who herself isn’t American, continues to rant before Otis asks,

“So it means it’s public?” he, which the employee confirms.

“No, it’s not public,” Donoshaytis adds again. “It’s for people who live in Winnetka, and we pay for it.”

Otis then reiterates that the employee “didn’t say that” before Donoshaytis requests that she call her manager.

“It’s not so funny,” Donoshaytis says to Otis, who replies that he’s “dying” of laughter.

“You crazy?” she adds. “Maybe you want to kill me?”

“Not at all, nope,” Campbell replies. “Why would I want to kill you? Is it because I’m black?”

“Yes,” Donoshaytis says, before calling him an “idiot.”

Donoshaytis then hits Otis. She was later arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge and could face a year in jail plus fines.
