Woman Arrested After Threatening To “Cough On Officer”

While the Coronavirus has many of us panicked, some are using the virus to get away with petty crimes!

Most recently, a California woman was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening an LAPD officer with a cough. TMZ reports that a Los Angeles police officer encountered a woman who was in a handicap parking spot without the proper documentation, and when he confronted she became argumentative.

Apparently, the unidentified woman then claimed she had coronavirus and threatened to cough on the police officer. After going back and forth with the woman, the officer arrested her for felony criminal threats. It is nor clear if the woman was actually infected with the coronavirus, but the officer made sure to disinfect afterward.

The D.A. has the option to convict the woman with a felony charge if it sticks, or they could reduce it to a misdemeanor.

As we reported, over 3,000 people are currently infected with COVID-19 in the U.S alone, with officials banning social gatherings of 50 or more,

“Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in the United States via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities,” the CDC said.
