Shannon Blackson,40, was arrested earlier this week after she was accused of setting her estranged husband’s girlfriend’s home on fire on April 3 in Baton Rouge. According to an arrest warrant, Blackson and the victim were involved in a car accident on April 2 and Blackson followed her husband to a hotel in College Drive. Since she and the victim both left their vehicles at an auto repair shop, her husband’s workplace, Blackson would borrow her mother’s car to check up on it and employees said they would find the victim’s car vandalized the following day.

Witnesses said they saw an item resembling a Molotov cocktail being thrown into the home that same night around 2 a.m. The woman’s children, aged 12 and 3, were in the home at the time but they made out safely. Blackson’s husband said she would send threatening text messages earlier that day that read, “f**ck them kids” and “Dnt play wit me, Play wit your kids” with a laughing emoji along with the following message, “I’m gon win everytime as reported by WBRZ. Blackson allegedly mentioned to the couple about the fire and sent a message reading, ” when u hear u gon know did you see the news.”
