Wisconsin Man Who Killed 5-Year-Old Son Over Cheesecake Pleads Guilty

Back in July 2019, we shared that a Wisconsin man was accused of fatally beating his 5-year-old son after eating his dad’s Father’s Day cheesecake. Now, he’s pleaded guilty. The father, 30-year-old Travis Stackhouse, has recently plead guilty and has been convicted of second-degree reckless homicide, child abuse and child neglect and is facing nearly 40 years in prison at his sentencing next month.

Previously, we reported that Stackhouse had become angry after his children ate his cheesecake he’d received for Father’s Day earlier in the week — he’d only eaten one slice. Frustrated, he ended up fatally punching his 5-year-old son, Sir Amer Stackhouse, in his stomach and face. To note, Stackhouse’s hand is heavier than normal because of metal inside from a surgery.

After hitting the boy, he fled to a bar with friends and upon his 2 a.m. return home, his girlfriend and mother of the boy had called police and paramedics — but to no avail as the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Per the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, the boy had eventually died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen; as he’d suffered a ruptured stomach, bruised kidneys and a torn adrenal gland.
