Wisconsin Man Charged After Killing Sex Offender Grandfather With Hammer
Bryan Joseph Luitze II, a 25-year-old Wisconsin man, has been charged after killing his sex offender grandfather with a hammer, and leaving it embedded in his face.
Luitze, of Racine, was charged on Friday (Oct. 30) with first degree intentional homicide and burglary while armed with a dangerous weapon; this after learning of his 70-year-old grandfather Charles Eugene Luitze’s “long history of sexual assaults,” including him being a registered sex offender with a 1991 conviction (which all happened before he was born). Kenosha County court records say Luitze is being held on a $1 million bail.
On August 15, a Kenosha deputy responded to a welfare check at the man’s home and found the elderly man in his bedroom “lying dead on his bed, blood splattered on the walls.” The deputy says “[the] hammer[was] still embedded in [his] face with the handle pointed toward the door [and] the center of his face crushed inward.”
