Will Smith’s Historical Slap Lands His Memoir Back On Best-Seller List
It has been almost 3 weeks since Oscar winner Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars for a joke he made about his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, however, it continues to be a trending moment in pop culture.
While he is the talk of Tinseltown, the former “Fresh Prince’s” memoir ‘Will’ Has climbed back to the top of the best seller list!
Will, which came out last year, jumped back up to USA Today’s list of the Top 150 Best Selling Books, at the No. 73 spot, marking its third-best week in sales.
As we reported, Rock said “Jada, can’t wait for GI Jane 2,” in reference to the 1997 film of the same name starring Demi Moore, who had shaved her head for the role.
While Will initially laughed it off, Jada seemed far from impressed and Will felt compelled to take action at the ceremony on live television.

Will‘s memoir opens up about how his career in the spotlight started with rapping in his hometown of Philadelphia and his relationship with his abusive father, amongst other things.
Following his viral Oscars slap, Will issued an apology to Chris Rock. He also resigned from the Academy, who is investigating the incident.
“My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he wrote on social media, “I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.” .
