Gladys has been terrorizing the Coon Rapids neighborhood for over a year, leaving residents with no choice but to defend themselves with homemade weapons. According to the Daily Mail, the female wild turkey appeared in the trailer park neighborhood just before Thanksgiving. Residents claim she turns blue before her attacks and will go to any length to attack her unsuspecting victims. Gladys will draw blood, flatten tires with her pecks, attack neighborhood cats, and even ride the back of resident Rachel Gross’ husband’s vehicle to Chipotle during her attacks.

‘This turkey attacks me every single day, [it] follows me. The kids that walk to the bus stop every morning, I have to come out and help them, but now they’re smart and carry sticks. It’s here 24/7. It thinks I’m his mom or something,’

Another resident Emily Ahlsten said she’s afraid for her one-year-old granddaughter’s safety as the toddler just moved with her.’ I’m afraid to even take her outside,’ she explained to CNN. Ahlsten added that she’s afraid of having family barbeques when the weather gets nicer outside.

‘I would just like it to be relocated to a place where it can live with other turkeys and be happier, and it’s not going to be a nuisance to people or potentially hurt somebody,’

The residents also called the Department of Natural Resources and even the police to relocate Gladys far away from the neighborhood. They believe she’s lashing out because of loneliness and being the only turkey on the property. Gross said the authorities hadn’t done anything to resolve the issues, and life hasn’t been peaceful for her or her family.

‘I can’t even have peace. I’m pretty stressed out and pretty anxious all the time.’

There are several videos of Gladys attacking the residents, and in one clip, Gross was trapped in her home while Gladys stood menacingly at her front door. In another video, Gross screamed for help and attempted to keep the turkey away.

Twitter reacts to the turkey attacks and comes up with different scenarios of what

After videos of the turkey went viral on Twitter, some users said they would’ve captured Gladys and cooked her for dinner, while others were stunned by the attacks.
