Whoopi Goldberg admits that after three failed marriages (aka divorces), she has been enjoying bar-hopping and “hit-and-run” sex.
During the March 18 episode of ‘The View,’ the EGOT winner introduced one of the hot topics for her and panel of female co-hosts to discuss.
The topic was about a recent Cosmopolitan about a woman in a happy long-term relationship admitting to missing her single days. She particularly missed the spontaneity of going out on the town and casually hooking up with people.

Whoopi introduced the topic and said:
“So, this is just so stimulating. A woman wrote an article in ‘Cosmopolitan,’ admitting that she fantasizes about being single, even though she’s in a very happy, long-term relationship. She writes that sometimes she finds herself missing the days of casual flings and bar-hopping.”
After Goldberg asked her co-hosts if they ever miss going out on the town as a single gal, Joy Behar boomeranged the question. She asked, “Well, we’ll ask you? Do you miss those days?” Without hesitation, Goldberg reminded everyone that she is indeed single and not in a relationship missing the single life.
Behar replied, “I know you are. But you don’t go bar-hopping or do any of that stuff, right?” Goldberg quipped, “No, that’s not so! Yeah, I bar-hop. I go hang. I do hit-and-runs when I need it.” Goldberg’s admission visibly left her co-hosts and the audience in awe. Everyone was also left roaring with applause and smiling in support of Goldberg’s after-hours behavior.

Whoopi Goldberg Enjoys ‘One-Night Stands’ After 3 Divorces
Now, this isn’t the first time, Goldberg has admitted to experiencing “hit-and-run” sex, nor the first time she’s talked about one-night stands. She actually spoke about this just last month. During a February 2026 feature with Interview Magazine, Goldberg said:
“In the last 25 years, I recognized that not everybody’s cut out to be in a relationship. Some people are just cut out to be one-night stands. I don’t want to live with anybody. I have lots of people that I love, but I don’t need them living with me. I don’t need to be sleeping with them.”
As mentioned, Goldberg has been married three times. Her first husband was Alvin Martin. They were married from 1973 to 1979. Goldberg then married David Claessen from 1986 to 1988. Then, in 1994, she married Lyle Trachtenberg. By 1995, they were divorced.
