Who Would You Bet On? Chris Rock’s Brother Kenny Wants To Fight Will Smith In A Boxing Match

Socialites, get into this. The Rock family is still not happy with Will Smith after he slapped Chris Rock on national TV over a joke.

As we previously reported, Tony Rock called out Will for socking his brother in the face for joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bald head at the Oscars. Rock’s other brother Kenny also spoke out and said he wanted to see Will stripped of his award over the wild moment. While speaking with the LA Times earlier this month, Kenny said, “It eats at me watching it over and over again because you’ve seen a loved one being attacked and there’s nothing you can do about it,” Kenny Rock told the outlet. “Every time I’m watching the videos, it’s like a rendition that just keeps going over and over in my head.”

TMZ reporter @SeleahSimone recently caught up with Kenny to see how he’s been holding up, and clearly, he’s still not over it. In fact, he now wants to put the paws on Will! According to the outlet, Kenny, just signed a deal with Celebrity Boxing founder Damon Feldman for a fight this summer down in Florida, and although he doesn’t have an opponent yet, he’s calling out Will.

The reporter pointed out that there’s a big height difference but Kenny doesn’t seem to be bothered by that at all.

While it’s not likely that Will is going to participate in a boxing match with Kenny, the clock’s ticking on Kenny to find an opponent as he is scheduled to fight on June 11 at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, FL.

As for Will, he’s still trying to recover from the whole slapping incident. So far, he has issued three apologies and has since resigned from the Academy. In a statement Will said,

“I have directly responded to the Academy’s disciplinary hearing notice, and I will fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work,” he said in the statement. “I am heartbroken.” He said that he would “accept any further consequences the board deems appropriate. Change takes time,” he concluded, “and I am committed to doing the work to ensure that I never again allow violence to overtake reason.”

In response, the academy said that it accepted his resignation:

“We have received and accepted Mr. Will Smith’s immediate resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences,” David Rubin, its president, said in a statement. “We will continue to move forward with our disciplinary proceedings against Mr. Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct, in advance of our next scheduled board meeting on April 18.”
