White Mom Regrets Calling Cops On Daughter’s Black Boyfriend After Police Kill Him, DA Files No Charges
Regina Perkins, a White mom, now regrets calling the cops on her daughter Alexus Page’s Black boyfriend — identified as 17-year-old Anthony Thompson — because it led to police killing him and the DA filing no charges against the cops. On April 12, four Knoxville police officers arrived to Austin-East High School after a domestic abuse call from Perkins. When the officers entered the bathroom, they did not know that Thompson was carrying a handgun and in less than 15 seconds things quickly escalated.
Body cam footage shows an officer grabbing Thompson’s right arm, with his left arm in his sweatshirt pocket holding a gun. The barrel of the weapon is seen through the pocket and suddenly it goes off, hitting a trash can, but not any of the officers. Instead, the shot confuses them, leading them to believe their lives were in danger. Subsequently, Officer Jonathon Clabough removes his weapon and shoots Thompson in the shoulder, then again as he fell to the ground. However, Clabough’s second shot accidentally hit fellow officer Adam Wilson in the leg.

It’s reported that officers did not know Thompson was hit until two minutes after handcuffing him, as they turned him over and saw the large amounts of blood. Thompson eventually succumbed to his injuries and died. Following the incident, Knoxville police chief Eve Thomas said the officers’ actions were justified and “cleared of any wrongdoing.” To add, Knox County District Attorney General Charme Allen, also said the shooting was “justifiable” under Tennessee’s self-defense law. Meanwhile, Perkins says, “I am so sorry, and I never meant for anything to happen to him. We are mourning, my daughter is grieving the loss of her first love and we also want answers and justice in this case.” #Socialites, thoughts?
