White Man Hurls ‘Racist’ Language At Black Woman At Florida Gas Station
On Thursday (May 19), video began circulating of the vicious attack that is completely not safe for work, and may be hard to watch. In the surveillance footage of the disturbing incident, a white man is seen hitting a Black woman, identified as 23-year-old Rayme McCoy.
Prior to the hate crime attack, McCoy says the man was using “racist” language. The incident occurred on Monday (May 16) at a gas station on University Boulevard.
McCoy says she entered into the gas station, which was near her home, and was followed by an elder white man — who was already in a verbal dispute with someone outside of the store.
Apparently, the man was “ranting and raving” and using “racist” language, and at some point he and McCoy were inside the store together when he walked toward the counter where she was standing, forcing her to ask him to back up.

At that point, that is when things quickly escalated. The man told McCoy that he had a gun in his car. She said, “So at that point, I felt threatened. He put his beers on the counter in front of my stuff and I slid them over and at that point, that’s when he started punching me in the face.”
Surveillance footage from the store, which does not contain audio of the attack, does show the white man with a mustache and a green shirt punching McCoy in the face at least 10 times before he casually exists the store and drives away in an orange Chevrolet Sonic hatchback.
Recalling the vicious attack, McCoy said, “I was literally shocked. After the first hit, you can see my mouth drop. After actually seeing the video it’s just shocking to see there was other people there and nobody did anything.”
McCoy said she walked away from the attack feeling dizzy and left with numerous cuts and bruises to her face. She ended up going to a local hospital to get her injuries checked out.

Florida Police Investigate The Attack On Black Woman & Arrest White Man
McCoy said a store clerk reported the crime to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO), who responded and took down the man’s license plate number and filed an official report, listing the crime as battery.
Police also found and interviewed at least two witnesses to the incident. On Friday (May 20), JSO found and arrested Williamson and booked him on a misdemeanor battery charge, with a $20,000 bond.
Prior to her attacker’s arrest, McCoy said, “I just hope that they actually find him and that they actually do something about it. I want real charges to be brought not just something simple, like this is an actual hate crime based on everything he was saying and like screaming out, I just feel like it should be, you know, a bigger charge given to him.”
