President Donald Trump‘s personal doctor at the White House is claiming that POTUS’ neck rash is from a “preventative skin treatment cream,” which is expected to cause redness for several weeks.

On Monday (March 2), social media had a field day after photographers spotted President Trump with some type of red and blotchy rash on the right side of his neck. Trump’s neck went viral as he appeared at the Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House. Social media users criticized his neck rash which peeked out just above the collar of his white shirt.
While responding to all of the social media mayhem, President Donald Trump’s personal doctor at the White House explained the health scare. Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, did not explain why President Trump needed this “preventative skin treatment,” but did tell Fox News:
“President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House Doctor. The President is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”
Donald Trump Spotted With Bruises On His Hands Twice, White House Blames Use Of Aspirin
The latest health update on the 79-year-old president arrives after frequent instances of bruising on the back of his hands. In August 2025, photographers first spotted Trump with visible bruising on the back of his hands. The photos sparked concerns nationwide about the president’s health. However, the White House only fueled speculation with shifting explanations.
At the time, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt attempted to silence speculation, stating Trump’s bruising was “consistent” with irritation from his “frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.” Leavitt’s comments echoed the assessment of White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella. The doctor previously wrote that the bruises were “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”
Photographers then spotted Trump with bruises on his hands again in November 2025. Trump and the White House again blamed the real culprit on aspirin, and not some secret health condition. According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump said:
“They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart. I want nice, thin blood pouring through my heart. Does that make sense?”
Additionally, Trump also addressed claims that he’s been caught sleeping during important meetings and public events. He said, “I’ve never been a big sleeper.” Trump said videos of what looks like him nodding off are really him just taking a moment to relax and calm his mind. He said, “I’ll just close. It’s very relaxing to me.” He added that photographers sometimes catch him mid-blink and the media will turn it into something bigger.
Before the president’s hand bruising in August and November 2025, in July 2025, doctors diagnosed Tump with Chronic Venous Insufficiency after experiencing some leg swelling.
