In February, it was announced that Wendy Williams’ long-running talk show, The Wendy Williams Show, had been canceled following a five-month absence due to the 57-year-old’s health issues, including Graves’ disease. While producers remained hopeful that Wendy would hop back onto her purple chair and front the TV program as she had for the past 14 years, somewhere during her hiatus, it appeared as if the relationship she once shared with executives had turned sour.
Why? Well, for one, Wendy shared an update with her fans via Instagram during her time off, insisting that she was fine and that reports claiming otherwise were simply misleading. Given that the mother of one tends to live a relatively private life outside of her former career as a talk show host, she rarely felt the need to address the media in regards to stories that had been written about her.
They are trying to erase Wendy Williams’ legacy right in front of our eyes. They know her YouTube channel is our last memory of her iconic talk show. There is no good reason for her to delete her channel.

But even after assuring fans that she was fine and hoping to return to front her talk show, it seemed as if producers had already moved on, after announcing that Sherri Shepherd, who had filled in as Wendy’s replacement for the majority of her leave, was going to take over the latter’s time slot with her own daytime chat show.
When The Wendy Williams Show ended its lengthy run on June 17, there was hardly any mention of Wendy, with reports later claiming that producers had no intention of bringing her back. The decision didn’t appear to bother the New Jersey native all too much, as she graciously bowed out without adding further fuel to the apparent flames that stemmed from her absence. Her official YouTube channel has since been removed as well.
Is Wendy Williams Launching A Podcast?
In late June, TMZ confirmed that Wendy was, in fact, working on developing her very own podcast, which she said will make her more money than what she previously made hosting her talk show.

The aforementioned publication spoke to her manager, Will Selby, who revealed that current talks were being had to figure out which platform Wendy would want to partner with, such as Spotify and Apple Music, who have two of the biggest audiences in the field of podcast and radio.
A string of celebrities, including The Kardashians, Fat Joe, and Snoop Dogg, had already been contacted at the time of the story being published, with a source further adding that there’s also interest in booking one of the Trump family members for an upcoming episode.
As of right now, it remains unclear when the podcast will premiere, but it’s slated for a release by the end of the year at the very latest. Wendy has already ruled out any chances of returning to daytime TV in the future unless it was for a one-off guest appearance on shows such as The View.
