Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Jr., recently gave his first-ever interview to express his fears about his mother’s health. In a recent chat with The U.S. Sun, Kevin Jr. revealed that he believes his mother is near death and blames her team for her downward spiral. Williams has been under guardianship since last year due to her severe alcoholism, and her mental and physical health has been in jeopardy ever since. Kevin Jr. claims that he was present during his mother’s doctor’s appointments and witnessed the compounding effect of Williams’ multiple ailments, which makes it difficult for her body to process alcohol like an average person.
He also criticized the people around her for prioritizing income over her declining health. Williams’ publicist has denied reports of her hospitalization or being in New York. “I know there are all sorts of things happening that I know in her right mind she would never agree to,” Kevin Jr. told the publication. “As hard as it is seeing her being taken advantage of, I know that if I’m making sure she, as a person, is okay, that is the important thing.”
He added, “What’s been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion that should not be a priority at all. And whoever has been hired – they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better.” Kevin Jr. accused three members of Williams’ inner circle, including her PR representative, of taking advantage of her financial affairs and enabling her alcohol use, which could have potentially fatal effects as it reportedly stays in her system.
He also claimed that his mother does not agree with certain things orchestrated by her team, who he believes are controlling her finances to keep earning income despite her health issues. The 22-year-old’s concerns for his mother’s safety and well-being are palpable.

The relationship between Williams and her son has been strained for a while now, and they reportedly have not spoken since she returned from rehab in October last year. Kevin Jr. intervened in his mother’s drinking problem, which led to an ultimatum that he will not be in her life unless she fixes herself. The former radio personality is currently preparing for the launch of her highly anticipated podcast, “The Wendy Experience,” but no premiere date has been announced yet.
Her health struggles have been well-documented over the past few years. She took a hiatus from her daytime talk show in 2019 due to complications from Graves’ disease before learning that her show has been canceled. She also filed for divorce from her husband of over 20 years, Kevin Hunter Sr., amid allegations of infidelity. The divorce was finalized in 2020.
Despite all of this, Williams has expressed excitement about the road ahead and is looking forward to releasing her many projects, including her previously announced podcast. While her relationship with Kevin Jr. remains strained, it is hoped that they will be able to reconcile and move forward together before it’s too late.
