Wendy Williams’ Social Media Handles Reportedly Being Rebranded For Sherri Shepherd Talk Show

Wendy Williams’ official social media handles are reportedly being rebranded for Sherri Shepherd’s upcoming talk show, it has been reported. Fans will have noticed how the former TV personality’s wendyshow Instagram page disappeared last week, along with her YouTube channel, which had amassed well over 100 million views thanks to its popular Hot Topics segment and countless celebrity interviews.

And while most people would have assumed that Wendy would be able to keep access to the accounts now that her talk show has ended, a new report via The Jasmine Brand claims that the social media handles are being rebranded ahead of Sherri Shepherd’s talk show debut in September.

While there was no mention of whether Sherri would also use Wendy’s YouTube channel to jumpstart her show’s first run, if she does, she will have already gained a heap of subscribers who were previously subscribed to watch clips from the Wendy show. An insider alleged, “The plan is to rename Wendy’s official accounts for Sherri Shepherd. Thus, Sherri’s show will debut with millions of social media followers who are really Wendy’s.”

The publication further asserted that while Wendy had made the personal request to attain all of her social media handles following the end of her talk show, her wishes were evidently not fulfilled as all of her social handles have been taken down. “Wendy’s people asked to have her Twitter and Instagram back, but she was told no!” the insider added. “She stated that her own Instagram account only has 89,000 followers, and her The Wendy Williams Show account has over 1 million.”

Wendy has already said that she has no plans of returning to daytime TV anytime soon as she plans to focus her attention on a new business venture — podcasting. Last month, TMZ reported that the mother of one had been in talks for several A-list celebs to appear on her next project, The Wendy Williams Podcast.

Everyone from Fat Joe to Snoop Dogg, the Kardashians, and a member of the Trump family have been in talks to share a sit-down chat with the media mogul, who is expected to launch her podcast before the year’s end.

In May, Wendy appeared to throw some subtle shade at Sherri, who is taking over her talk show slot to front her own series, which has officially been titled “Sherri.” While talking to Fat Joe in a live Instagram Q&A, the 57-year-old openly admitted that she wouldn’t have any interest in watching the show.

“I [like] her, but I won’t be watching her because I know what she’s gonna be doing and that’s really not my thing. Ummm, you know? You know what I’m saying? Anyway.”

In response to the comment, Sherri took to Instagram, saying, “She’s [Wendy Williams] not well. So, it’s just a lot going on in Wendy’s life. This when you need your friends. You need your family. You need people who love you…So, all I can do over here is pray for Wendy.”
