Wendy Williams Reveals She Liked ‘Nothing’ About Final Episode Of Her Talk Show And Wasn’t Asked To Make An Appearance

Wendy Williams is speaking about the final taping of her talk show, “The Wendy Williams Show,” which concluded its 14-year run on June 17. Fans found it disturbingly odd that even for her last episode, the former radio personality, who had been absent from hosting duties since late 2021 due to health issues, was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the finale was fronted by her replacement, Sherri Shepherd, who is slated to take over Wendy’s time slot with her own talk show, “Sherri,” in September.

In a new interview with the New York Post, Wendy broke her silence after being quizzed on why she seemingly had no involvement with the end of her show, to which she said she was never even approached to return. “They didn’t ask me to do that, so I didn’t,” she shared. “There was nothing I liked about [the final episode of] the Wendy Williams Show.”

“Debmar-Mercury, in my opinion, should have done it with [me], not these other people on The Wendy Williams Show…except for Fat Joe. I love him. He’s my favorite.” Wendy reiterated her previous announcement that she now plans to turn her attention on a new career move: podcasting.

As previously reported, the upcoming project is already said to have begun talks with a handful of celebrities including the Kardashians and Snoop Dogg, who have reportedly been in discussions to make guest appearances, though no official names have been set in stone just yet.

Wendy expressed that there’s more money to be made for her in the business of podcasting — in fact, she believes she’ll make a bigger profit from her podcast than what she made hosting her own syndicated talk show. Alongside these upcoming plans, the mother-of-one said that she’s also passionate about food and hopes to open up her own restaurant in the near future, showing clear signs that Wendy is looking to branch out into multiple ventures.

“If you’re extremely famous like I am, [hosting a podcast] will make more money than being on The Wendy Williams Show,” she explained. “What I want to do is podcast, and I want to have a restaurant. If I don’t do anything else, including podcast, I would love to fall in love. I want to f–k. Excuse me, I’m gorgeous. Can I f–k?”

“Maybe I’ll go back on TV. Perhaps, I don’t know. I’ve got so much money, I can do anything I want, or nothing at all.”

Wendy’s comments about the end of her talk show come just days after she revealed that while she’s hoping to fall in love again, she’s already ruling out the idea of ever getting married again.

She finalized her divorce from ex-husband Kevin Hunter in early 2020 after 22 years of marriage. The latter was said to have enjoyed a lengthy affair with a woman named Sharina Hudson, who went on to welcome her first child with Kevin that very same year.
