Wendy Williams’ Brother Claims She’s ‘Abandoned’ Their Father Following Her Recent Personal Struggles: ‘I Can See The Pain In His Eyes’

Wendy Williams‘ relationship with her family continues to remain detached, with her brother, Tommy, now speaking out on how his famous sister has allegedly cut all ties with their father, Thomas Williams Sr. The unsettling and rather upsetting claims were made in an interview with The Sun, where Tommy shed light on just how distant he and the family have become from Wendy in recent months.

But what appears to bother the 54-year-old the most is that there’s no communication between Wendy and their dad, with who — as most fans will already know — she had always shared a close bond with. Prior to the passing of her and Tommy’s mother, Shirley, in 2020, Wendy’s parents were often seen sitting front row at her now-defunct talk show whenever they were visiting New York City. It went without saying that she always had their full support and vice versa.

But according to Tommy, it’s quite the contrast to the relationship Wendy shares with her father today. “Everybody’s able to kind of shrug it off, but it’s painful when it comes to her father, it’s painful,” he told the news outlet. “He’s 92 in February, and he’s in great shape, but she’s really missing out. It is more painful because this is the month of our mother’s passing. When I ask if he’s heard from her and he says ‘No,’ I can see the pain in his eyes.”

Tommy’s comments strongly indicate that Wendy has not been in her father’s life for some time, and given the fact that Thomas Williams isn’t getting any younger, her brother seems concerned that his sibling will ultimately regret shunning their dad for so long.

Of course, Tommy’s remarks come just weeks after it was claimed by the same publication that Wendy also reportedly hadn’t spoken to her son, Kevin Jr. since she left a Malibu rehab facility in October after struggling with substance abuse. Sources claimed that while the pair frequently spoke during her time in treatment, once she had completed her stay, Kevin Jr. no longer heard from his mother.

“Kevin has been through hell this year with everything going on with his mom. It breaks his heart that things seemed to be going well while she was in rehab, but as soon as she got her freedom, she hasn’t reached out to him since,” the insider said.

Despite the cancelation of her talk show earlier this year, Wendy had vowed to make a grand return when her podcast, The Wendy Williams Experience, launches. The project has been teased for months but considering her stint in rehab on top of legal issues with her bank Wells Fargo, who Wendy accused of refusing to grant access to her money, the podcast has been a work in progress ever since.

Wendy has yet to respond to her brother’s latest statement about her relationship with her father, but given her reluctance to speak on her personal matters, it’s rather unlikely she’ll want to say anything at all.
