Well Dang! Jim Jones Says Pusha T Isn’t Deserving Of Top 50 Greatest Rappers

One thing about Jim Jones, he’s going to say how he really feels even if many don’t agree with him.

During an episode of the Rap Caviar Podcast, the Dipset rap star decided to weigh in on Billboard’s list of the Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time. Fellow rapper Pusha T came in at No. 29… Now although he was too high up, Jones doesn’t think Pusha should be on the list at all! “What has he done that puts him in the greatest rappers of all time besides talk about coke that he probably didn’t get himself?” Jones asked while debating with others members of the panel. He went on to give him credit for being a good lyricist but said he doesn’t have much impact on hip-hop:

“He’s nice as sh**. He could rap his a** off, but what has he done? Nobody has dressed like him. Nobody wants to be like Pusha T. I don’t remember nothing. And let’s not be evil, but we don’t talk about rap where the ni**a that’s popping the b*tches wanna f**k and the ni**as wanna be like. I don’t know too many ni**as in this game that was leaning towards being like Pusha T.”

He continued, “Pusha T don’t hold no weight out here. He not pushing no sh** out here.
You go in these clubs, I don’t know no records they play in the club with Pusha T. They don’t play his sh*t outside.”

Ouch…

While some may agree with Jones, Pusha T has accomplished a lot. Pusha has had many classic albums and singles which have held their ground among other rap stars even after Drake’s fall from grace.

He earned his stripes with the Daytona album, and it was also the first full-length project of Kanye West’s Wyoming series. His sinister bars mixed with Kanye West’s trademark beats earned them both a Grammy nod. Pusha has been in the game for two decades, delivering punchy albums such as “My Name Is My Name” and “Darkest Before Dawn”. He has consistently delivered dope-boy bars that have left fans wanting more over the years. His impressive solo projects have also been noted by many including his brotherly collaborator, Kanye.

Pusha T has been influential in hip-hop for quite some time now and continues to push boundaries and showcase new sounds. His flow is reminiscent of Nas but with an edgy twist that sets him apart from other artists. In addition to working with Kanye, who helped him become one of hip-hop’s most recognizable names, he was even also featured on 30 Rock when Alec Baldwin rapped a verse from “Runaway” alongside Lil Baby back in 2018.

Although it seems like he’s had a great career so far, many people may still side with Jones on this.
