According to the New York Post, CamSoda launched the idea in Medellin, Colombia. The company converted one of the abandoned warehouses in the city into a studio with individuals pods with a web cam, laptop, bed, or couch. Each pod is thoroughly cleaned after use to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
CamSoda vice president Daryn Parker said the company came up with the idea after many cam workers discovered many hardships during the quarantine. He says, “There has been a large spike in traffic to adult cam sites, along with a large influx of new models looking for ways to make money while remaining socially distant. Quarantining for the last few months has been unbelievably hard on all of us. And for a lot of our models, it’s been especially difficult to find a place to cam. These models, both veterans, and newcomers have children, spouses, parents, and roommates that are now home 24/7, and it has become nearly impossible for them to stream privately without interruption.”

Many of the cam workers completed their work inside of the CamSoda House where they would socialize with each other in between shifts and create content. Due to the success of the pods in Colombia, they will make their debut appearance in the United States in various states such as Florida, Arizona, California, and Texas due to their high cases of COVID-19.
