Los Angeles-based entrepreneur Vince Ricci was just seconds away from being a victim of a home robbery. However, thanks to his quick thinking and having his concealed weapon on him, he was able to defend himself.
The heart-stopping moments were captured on his home surveillance camera. In the footage, Ricci can be seen getting out of his car as his gate closes behind him. Closely into the video, two men are seen hopping over the gate and trying to run up on him. Now, Ricci was returning home from the gym and had his ear pods in along with his coffee in his hand, and was completely unaware that intruders were following him this whole time.
Seconds later, one of the men tries to attack Ricci at gunpoint. However, he quickly throws his coffee at one of the masked robbers who are covered in all black. The Hubble Studios owner who has his CCW permit and was armed, immediately drew his weapon and began firing at the armed guys. Although they attempted to flee, they still tried to harm Ricci by returning fire. His wife was on the other side of the door when they attempted to shoot at him again. Thankfully, Ricci or his wife did not get hurt. After the attack, the family filed a report with LAPD’s Olympic Division.

Speaking to ABC7 about the Saturday incident, the homeowner said “I guess they decided to try to come at me and come in the house but I have a five-month-old baby and a wife and a nanny in the house and that wasn’t going to happen,” the man told Eyewitness News.
“There was nothing in my house that was worth dying for. But I was willing to die for my family.”
What Is The Gun Laws In Los Angeles?
In California, a person must be at least 18 years old to buy a shotgun or rifle and at least 21 years old to buy a handgun. The purchaser must also pass a background check (called the Dealer’s Record of Sale, or DROS) with a licensed dealer – even if it is a private purchase or gun show purchase.
Furthermore, California’s gun laws make it a crime to carry a concealed firearm or concealed weapon. However, this crime will not get charged if you have a lawful concealed carry permit.
As of Monday morning, it is unclear if the would-be-robbers who tried to attack Ricci were caught by police. However, Ricci has hopes that they will be captured soon.
“It’s a matter of time before these people get caught. I think they should just pick a new career before they do end up in jail.”
