Kim Kardashian is used to wins. Billion-dollar brands, viral moments, and cultural domination are kind of her lane. But in the season 7 finale of The Kardashians, fans see a different side of Kim, one where the loss hits a little heavy.
We already knew Kim didn’t pass the latest California Bar exam. What we didn’t see until now was the raw moment it became real.
The scene opens with Kim posted up on the couch alongside Khloé, Kris, and her son Saint, all locked in and waiting on the clock. When 5 PM finally hits, Kim refreshes her screen and the truth pops up. No celebration. No scream. Just heartbreak.
She quietly says, “I didn’t make it. It’s okay I figured that”, trying to stay composed but clearly hurting.
Khloé, being Khloé, wastes no time asking why Kim already felt it was an L. Kim keeps it honest, admitting she knew her essays weren’t where they needed to be, and that’s what did her in.
Kris Jenner, momager-in-chief, immediately steps into comfort mode, saying, “It sucks because you worked so hard”. Meanwhile, Khloé takes a sharper angle. During a call with Kim and her professor Chris, she questions whether Kim was doing too much at once, pointing out that she probably shouldn’t have been shooting a TV show while also trying to lock in and memorize law.
Professor Chris tries to talk Kim off the ledge, reminding her, “This doesn’t define you. They don’t realize how close you were and how much you studied”. But even with encouragement, the disappointment lingers. Kim cracks a dark joke, calling herself “a big fucking loser this week.”
Khloé tries to flip the energy, bringing up how All’s Fair didn’t exactly get love out the gate either, chalking it up to haters doing what haters do. Kim laughs it off, adding, “It was either going to be the greatest week or the worst week ever.”
Through it all, the moment that really hits is seeing Saint close by, quietly present, watching his mom navigate a rare public loss. No glam. No filter. Just family, feelings, and real life.

At the end of the day, Kim doesn’t hide from it. She lets fans, and her kids, see that even when you’re wildly successful, you can still fall short. And while failing the bar is no small setback, she makes it clear she’s not done. She knows what went wrong, and she’s ready to run it back.
Because if there’s one thing Kim Kardashian knows how to do, it’s get back up.
