WATCH: Suspected Shoplifter Dragged Through Grocery Store
Was this necessary? Dramatic video captured by a bystander shows two security guards dragging a woman who they suspected of shoplifting at a supermarket in California.
According to TMZ and ABC7, the woman and a man who was with her allegedly stole some expensive tequila. After being caught red-handed, eyewitnesses who captured some of the mayhem on camera said the woman identified as 27-year-old Victoria Vargas, was manhandled by the security personnel and literally pulled by the arms out of the store all while she screamed. The guy recording says it’s illegal for them to do that, but the guards doing the dragging didn’t seem to care.

“She was screaming really loud,” Marvin Lopez Rangel, a witness who recorded the incident, said of the woman who was dragged. “She was pleading for help. It sounded like she was actually in pain.” The struggle continued outside, where things got intense with folks expressing concern after seeing how Vargas was being dealt with.
Security held their ground and kept the woman pinned until the cops eventually arrived. Although the two were caught for shoplifting,
Vargas and her alleged male accomplice were arrested and booked for robbery, conspiracy to commit a crime and a slew of other charges. As TMZ notes, it’s unclear if they’ve posted bond yet.
