Watch: Meek Mill Caught Gillie Da Kid Thinking About His Son During Performance And Quickly Took Him Out Of Grieving State

It’s been a tough couple of weeks for Gillie Da Kid who recently lost his son due to gun violence. Although he’s still grieving, he’s been trying his best to stay positive and stay strong through it all. Thanks to his good friends in his inner circle, they’re also making sure to give him all the love and support he needs during this difficult time.

Recently, a bunch of artists and friends came together for his Gillie Fest in collaboration with Million Dollaz Worth Of Game co-host Wallo267. Before hitting the stage to perform, artist Freeway took a moment to not only console Gillie but also to say this: “You know I lost my son in 2020,” Freeway aid onstage with Gillie in his arm. “I lost my daughter in 2021 to cancer. My brother Gil lost his son. So when we say that we can rock this s**t for our kids, it got a deeper meaning. Because we still have things that we can do for our kids, like make doo-wop for them. Like, give charity in they names, things that’s gon’ aid them in the next life. And that’s the mission that we on. So, if I can rock, this s**t for my kids, Philly, let’s go.” The 39-year-old later thanked him on social media for his care, “Don’t know what I would have did without this Brother @phillyfreeway.”

A video clip reposted by Gillie also shows Meek Mill performing but then quickly noticing Gillie going into a daze. The rapper is seen pulling him out of it and then later dapping him up to assure that’s okay. Gillie captioned the clip saying, “@MeekMill was performing my $hi, I was in the middle of thinking bout my son,” he expressed on IG. “And he slap the $hi out me lokey scared the $hi out me [multiple crying-laughing emojis]. I played it off tho #LLCheeze #GillieFest.”

Wallo also recently showered his Million Dollaz Worth Of Game cohost on his birthday and gifted him an exciting present. While sharing an emotional video on Instagram on Monday (July 31), Gillie detailed how his friend came through on his first birthday since the death of his son.

“I pull up to the studio… This ni**a bought me this for my birthday,” explained the Philadelphia native. “Aye Lo! man, I love you. I was really down, man. This is my first birthday without my son being here, so I was really going through it and I pulled up to the studio and this ni**a bought me this. This ni**a crazy.” He continued, “I love this ni**a, man. This ni**a crazy, man. Damn, this joint [is] nice as sh*t. Damn, Lo. You hooked me up dog. Damn, man. I appreciate you, cuz. Man, I swear I love this ni**a man. Damn, man. God damn. This is a nice birthday gift. I love you dog!”

As we previously reported, YNG Cheese real name Devin Spady, gunned down in Philadelphia last month in a triple shooting. He died from a single shot in the back. So far, no arrests have been made. Devin was just 25 years old.

Remembering his beloved son, Gillie recently said in a tribute post, “I Miss u like $hit Dev My heart will forever have a Black hole in it but u know ur father gotta be strong to hold the family up,” wrote the podcast host. “Thanks 4 all the support from family, friends, and all of my followers y’all really helping me get thru these ruff times Me, and my family appreciate and love y’all.”
