The internet has been slamming Kanye West selling his latest clothing collection out of trash bags.

A picture taken by a Twitter user has gone viral after snapping a pic of YE’s new pieces in trash bags for customers to dig in. “This is how they are selling Yeezy GAP,” a New York-based Twitter user captioned a photo. The eyewitness said, “The sales associate said Ye got mad when he saw they had [his clothes] on hangers” because “this is how he wanted it.”

Of course, fans had a lot to say about it. One commenter wrote, “Balenciaga & Kanye’s fetish with the homeless as ‘fashion muses’ it’s everything that is wrong with billionaires…they no longer see the plight of people, they don’t see humans that are suffering, they see opportunities to be ‘edgy’ and profit from it… it’s disgusting.” Another said, “Fishing a $240 hoodie out of a garbage bag?” A third commenter said, “As a former visuals manager I can say this would make me quit my job if I were still on the visuals team.”

So how does Kanye West feel about the backlash? Well, it doesn’t seem like he’s bothered by it at all. In fact, he’s still sticking by his artistic vision. While speaking with @FoxNews Ye said: “I’m an innovator, and I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas,” West said, in an interview that aired Thursday on “Fox & Friends.” “That’s exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”

He went on to say, “This is not a joke. This is not a game. This is not just some celebrity collaboration,” West said. “This is my life.” West also shared a message to people who continue to clown creators, making them less brave to share their ideas:

“I’m fighting for a position to be able to change clothing and bring the best design to the people,” the rapper continued.
