While hoping to earn some extra money this summer, the young entrepreneur named Jeremy, had set up a stand on Beverly Boulevard in Everett. He was selling sweets like cotton candy, popcorn and soda, water and lemonade.
Jeremy was trying to earn enough money to expand his business and set up vending machines in his local area. He also wanted to donate money to his native, war-torn country of Ukraine.
However, one male customer ended up crushing Jeremy’s dreams after scamming the young child with a fake $100 bill.
Jeremy said, “They got so much stuff and gave me a fake hundred-dollar bill for a lot of stuff like worth $20.”
Recalling the incident, Jeremy says he gave the man $80 in change, but he later noticed that the texture of the $100 bill “didn’t feel good.” So, he went to a local gas station and learned why. He said he was “very disappointed and very sad.”

After the incident, on Thursday (August 4), local authorities in Washington state released an image of the suspect. Fortunately, Jeremy, who is a young YouTuber, was recording the entire concession and captured the moment in question.
With that image, police hope to bring Jeremy some justice. Everett police said, “While our detectives work hard to bring closure to every case, this case struck a particular chord with them, and they want to do everything they can to get justice for Jeremy and catch this counterfeiter.”
In the meantime, Jeremy has reopened his stand and hopes to continue earning money for his new business ventures and Ukraine donations.
However, Jermey is keeping a few things in mind as he continues to run his lemonade stand. He has now learned to only take in small bills and to check each bill more closely. And he also shared his own message to the man who ripped off a child. he said, “Stop scamming kids.”
