Washington Football Team player Darrius Guice has been arrested in Virginia on domestic violence charges.

According to TMZ, Derrius Guice,23, was taken into custody early Friday on multiple charges which include one count of felony strangulation. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the running back is also facing an additional three counts of assault and battery along with one count of destruction of property. After news of the arrest, the Washington Football Team announced they have cut Guice from the team.
“We immediately alerted the National Football League and have continued to work with them during this process. We then met with Derrius to inform him that he was excused from all team activity pending a review of the matter.”This afternoon we learned that there were multiple charges filed against Derrius. Upon review of the nature of these charges ad following internal discussions, we have decided to release Derrius immediately.”

Authorities reported the incidents took place on Feb.14, March 13, and April 17 at the former running back’s home in Ashburn. The incidents were reported by the victim to the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland.
Around 5 pm, Guice turned himself to police but was later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
