Things just got even more serious for boxing superstar Gervonta Davis, who is now reportedly wanted by Maryland authorities after allegedly violating the terms of his probation tied to a previous hit-and-run case.
According to reports, a judge in Baltimore approved an arrest warrant on April 24 after prosecutors claimed Davis violated probation connected to his 2020 hit-and-run case that injured multiple people. The alleged probation violation stems from an incident that reportedly took place at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami during the early morning hours of October 27, 2025. Authorities claim Davis confronted his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel, while she was working as a cocktail server at the club.
Rossel stated that Davis forcibly grabbed her by the neck and physically moved her through the club against her will… before she finally managed to break free, a claim that appears to be supported by surveillance footage.
The accusations immediately sparked concern online, especially since Davis was already under legal supervision at the time. While many fans continue to support the boxer because of his talent and accomplishments, others are questioning whether repeated legal troubles could start impacting his legacy outside of boxing.
Why Authorities Issued Another Warrant For Gervonta Davis
The latest warrant marks another twist in what has already been a complicated legal situation for Davis. Tank got arrested for this incident back in January and is facing charges of felony kidnapping and misdemeanor battery. However, despite the seriousness of the accusations, his legal team initially convinced a Maryland judge that he had been cooperating with law enforcement.
Following the South Florida incident and his arrest, a judge in Maryland issued a warrant for Gervonta’s arrest for a possible probation violation in February. However, Tank’s lawyers argued successfully that he had cooperated with law enforcement and shouldn’t be facing a warrant. The judge agreed.
Now, fast forward less than three months – that same judge has issued another warrant, and this one has stuck.
The situation is especially serious because probation violations can lead to additional penalties, stricter sentencing, or even jail time depending on how the court decides to move forward. Since Davis was already serving probation tied to the 2020 hit-and-run case, prosecutors reportedly believe the Miami allegations are enough to show he violated the terms set by the court.
Legal experts say judges typically look at several factors when deciding whether to revoke probation. They often consider whether the accused cooperated with police, whether new charges involve violence, and whether there is supporting evidence like surveillance footage or witness testimony.
