Walter Wallace Family Calls For Justice After Fatal Police Shooting
After the fatal police shooting of 27-year-old Walter Wallace Jr., the young man’s family, including his mother, who was present at the time of his shooting, is speaking out and calling for justice.
Alongside Wallace’s mother, his children and other relatives have been protesting in the streets of West Philadelphia. One of Wallace’s sons, his eldest, held back tears as he tried to explain what his father meant to him, during his speech, he blamed the murder on racism, accusing the “white racist cops” of shooting his father. At the end of his speech, he raised his fist to declare “Black Lives Matter.”

As we’ve previously reported, Wallace was fatally shot by police at least 10 times. Police responded to a call about a disturbance and found Wallace with a knife-in-hand. Wallace’s mother was present, attempting to gain control of her son, but sadly to no avail as Wallace was shot after walking towards police. After initial reports, it was stated that Wallace was nonverbal and suffering from a mental crisis at the time of the shooting.
