A regular workday at a Walmart in Collinsville, Illinois, took a terrifying turn after a young employee allegedly attacked his coworker in what’s being called a premeditated stabbing.
According to the Collinsville Police Department, 19-year-old Kelvin Fuller has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery after stabbing a female coworker he claimed was “disrespectful” to him. The shocking incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, while the victim was working behind the deli counter and casually speaking with another employee. That’s when police say Fuller walked up with a knife, dragged it across her neck, and continued attacking her — stabbing her in the arm, shoulder, and back, KSDK reports.
Witnesses attempted to intervene as the woman broke free and ran for safety. Surveillance video reportedly captured the chaotic scene.

“He Brought the Knife to Work”: Police Say Walmart Attacker Came Prepared
During questioning, Fuller reportedly confessed to the brutal act, admitting that he came to work armed with a knife and wearing black gloves.
According to court documents cited by KSDK, Fuller told investigators he became enraged after feeling “disrespected” by the woman, who was a new employee at the store.
He explained that after slicing her neck, he continued to go after her even when she tried to escape. Fuller allegedly said, “When she broke free, he indicated he was still looking for her, and would have kept going if he found her.” He also admitted he didn’t believe she could survive the stabbing.
Victim Undergoes Surgery But Survives Walmart Attack
Despite the severity of the stabbing, the woman miraculously survived and was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. Reports say she sustained internal injuries and deep lacerations to her back and shoulder. Police confirmed she is now in stable condition, but recovering from both physical wounds and trauma from the incident. Her identity has not been released publicly at this time, likely to protect her privacy as the case develops.
Meanwhile, Fuller remains in custody as his charges move forward. Prosecutors are expected to pursue the attempted murder charge to the fullest extent, especially due to the premeditated and violent nature of the act.
