Waka Flocka Announces Life Dedication To Suicide Prevention & Mental Health
On Monday (May 25), Waka Flocka announced to his fans his new life dedication to suicide prevention and mental health. The Atlanta rapper took to his Twitter, stating, “I’m officially dedicating my life to suicide prevention and mental illness!!!”
He continued, “Y’all not alone. Waka Flocka Flame is with y’all now.” While the “Wild Boy” rapper did not elaborate on his plans, if there was any cause that he’d get behind, it’d make sense for it be suicide prevention. In 2013, Waka lost his younger brother Kayo Redd to suicide after a battle with depression. He was 22-years-old.

He admitted, “The only way I could get through it, I had to stay high. So I’m like ‘F**k it, I’m gonna get high. I’m gonna pop me some pills. That’s how I’mma do it.’ That was my therapy. That was my addiction, [it] was pills.”
