Vogue’s Former Editor-At-Large André Leon Talley Battling Eviction From Mansion
André Leon Talley, Vogue‘s former editor-at-large and creative director, is currently battling eviction from his $1 million New York mansion, which is owned by former CEO of Manolo Blahnik USA George Malkemus.
It’s reported that Talley, 72, and Malkemus were once really good friends and have since had a dramatic falling out. Now, Malkemus has launched legal action against Talley; alleging he is $500,000 behind in rent at his palatial White Plains, NY property. However, since 2018, Talley has been saying the historic 11-room colonial home is his property.

But new court papers say the real owners are Malkemus and his business partner and husband Anthony Yurgaitis, who purchased it back in 2004 at over $1 million. Meanwhile, in court, Talley counters, “This action arises out of the Defendents’ improper attempt to evict Talley from a home … that is rightfully his, so that they may sell the property.” As of January 2020, he says he’s been living in the home and has paid back more than the purchase price ($1,075,588). #Socialites, thoughts?
