A white woman was arrested in North Carolina for using her car as a weapon and driving into a group of black people who where “peacefully protesting” the police shooting of Andrew Brown Jr., in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

The suspect, Lisa Michelle O’Quinn, 41, is also alleged to have used racial slurs during the attack. She was charged with two counts of felony assault with a deadly weapon, the intent to kill by the use of a motor vehicle, one count of careless and reckless driving and one count of unsafe movement. She has not yet been charged with a hate crime, however, based on witness statements the attack was clearly racially motivated.
