Vice President Mike Pence and his wife have tested negative for the novel coronavirus. Pence said in a statement earlier that he would be tested after a staff member was revealed to have the virus.
According to CNN, Vice President Mike Pence made the statement this afternoon during a White House press briefing after it was revealed that a staff member from his office tested positive for COVID-19.
“While the White House doctor has indicated that he has no reason to believe I was exposed and no need to be tested, given the unique position I have as vice president and as leader of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, both I and my wife will be tested for the coronavirus later this afternoon,”
Their results were confirmed by VP Press Secretary Katie Miller in a tweet this evening:

Before his results were revealed, Pence said during the briefing that the staff member is doing well but experiencing cold-like symptoms. He nor President Trump did not have any contact with the staffer and they have been out of the White House since Monday.
President Trump himself has tested negative for the coronavirus but he said during a press conference that he “feels great.”
