It is reported by TMZ that the investment lawsuit Vanessa won involved one of the biggest investment deals that Kobe ever made. Additionally, the publication claimed that during her case, Vanessa also exposed “some pretty awful, racially-charged” comments expressed by an official at Kobe’s own company.

Now, back in 2013, Kobe first signed a deal with the sports drink company for $6 million, that also came with 10% interest in the company. Many years later, the BodyArmor sold to Coca-Cola in a huge deal, valued at $5.6 billion. When the company got acquired, Kobe’s investment reportedly turned out a profit of about $400 million.

Then in 2019, six months before Kobe was tragically killed in a helicopter accident in California, the President of Kobe, Inc., Molly Carter, came out and said that Kobe promised to give her 2% of his cut from the $400 million payday. However, Kobe called cap on her claims, and said that he had never made any promises of that nature.

Being that it was her word against his, Molly tried to take her claims to court and sued Kobe. Following the NBA legend’s death, Vanessa picked up the pieces of the case and not only defended her deceased husband, but also filed her own counterclaim, alleging that Molly violated her loyalty to Kobe, along with a non-disparagement clause in her employment contract.

On the latter claim, Vanessa alleged that Molly was speaking very ill about Kobe and the family.

Vanessa claimed that the Kobe, Inc. President referred to Kobe as an “a**hole,” a “douche nugget,” and a “d*ck wad.” Vanessa also alleged that Molly even called her the “f***ing devil,” a “b*tch,” and a “psycho.” Vanessa said that Molly also allegedly mocked her newborn child, and said she had “botox lips.”

And the buck didn’t stop there apparently, Vanessa also said that while Molly was working for Kobe, Inc., she was once allowed to travel to an NBA All-Star game on a jet, but while on it, she allegedly complained about there being “a lot of fancy-a** Black people” aboard the flight.

When Molly’s BodyArmor investment lawsuit went to arbitration, she not only lost, but she also lost in her case where Vanessa countersued for her being disloyal and trash-talking her boss and his family. From both cases, Vanessa has since been awarded more than $1.5 million in attorney’s fees, etc.

Additionally, Kobe’s legal team has also filed new documents, where they are requesting that an Orange County Superior Court judge ratify the arbitration award.
