Utah Gov. Signs Bill To Block Porn On Cell Phones & Tablets, Violators Will Face Fines From $10 To $500
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox (R) has recently signed a bill to block porn on cell phones and tablets, a s means to help censor harmful material to minors. Furthermore, violators will face fines ranging from $10 to $500.
It’s reported that bill H.B. 72 will establish filter requirements and enforcements (like passcodes) for tablets and smartphones activated in the state on or after January 1 of the year the measure takes effect — which doesn’t look to be in the immediate future. Additionally, said requirements would look to have users verify their age before accessing explicit content.
