#Socialites, get into this! Sources are claiming that Usher, 44, is planning to bring “tasteful” pole dancers to the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Earlier this week, the National Football League (NFL) and JAY-Z’s Roc Nation announced that Usher had officially been named as the performer for February 2024’s Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show. Social media immediately went into a frenzy and have began preparing to go see Usher live on game day or getting their Super Bowl watch parties together.

An equally excited Usher spoke with Apple Music’s Alexander Zane Reed Lowe and admitted that performing on the big stage has always been on his bucket list.

He said, “This is the most grand stage to ever play on man. Those 13 minutes mean everything it’s been on my bucket list for a long time. I’ve been asked plenty of times what are the benchmarks or what are the things that matter the most I guess to you, obviously, it’s performing but being able to perform on that stage because so many amazing performers throughout the years have graced it and did an amazing job. So of course the obsession of that starts but man just the excitement in this moment like to really be able to savor this moment.”

Usher also shared what it was like getting the call with the offer from JAY-Z himself. He said, “I mean, you know, me and the big homie, we talk often. But when I got this call… he said, ‘It’s time, it’s magic time. You know, it’s time for you to have that moment.’ I’m like, what are you talking about? He’s like, ‘The Super Bowl.’”

Prior to receiving the big call, Usher might have actually manifested the moment for himself. We previously reported back in April how he wanted to headline a future Super Bowl Halftime Show. He then told Access Hollywood‘s Scott Evans, “I’d be a fool to say no.”

Usher added, “If things line up the way we would all hope, one day that moment would happen. I’ve had the opportunity to graze the stage before in support of ‘OMG’ with will.i.am, but that was one moment. I think I have a catalog that obviously speaks for itself, so to be able to celebrate on that day, it’s obviously about football, but everybody really anticipates the performance. Seeing Michael Jackson perform and recently seeing Snoop [Dogg] and [Dr.] Dre and all them perform, seeing so many incredible performances like Prince. It has always been kind of a bucket list.”

As social media continues to roar in excitement over the news, there are also questions about what songs Usher will perform and what type of impact he plans to make on the big platform. Well, some sources have opened up to Page Six and are claiming Usher is going to have pole dancers join him on stage.

Similar to different props and acts used during his current Las Vegas residency, sources say, “Usher plans on having… pole dancers — dressed in a tasteful manner, of course as well as dancers on roller skates. He is definitely keeping in mind that his younger fans will be watching.”

They added, “[He] just wants to set himself apart and make history as one of the greatest performers to hit the world stage. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Dr. Dre, Prince, and Michael Jackson have all made memorable moments, and now that Usher is taking the stage he wants to do something different, unforgettable, and over-the-top.”

Now, this wouldn’t be the first time Super Bowl viewers have seen something risqué on the big stage. We all remember the accidental nipple slip with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in 2004. Then fans went into a frenzy after M.I.A. stuck the middle finger up at the 2012 show.

And just in 2020, Jennifer Lopez caught major flack for incorporating a stripper pole in her performance, plus more. After showing off her impressive pole dancing skills in the movie ‘Hustlers,’ J.Lo worked the pole again during her Halftime Show with Shakira.
