Welp! US Olympic Committee Just Banned Trans Women in Women’s Sports After Trump Pressure
Looks like the pressure from Donald Trump finally hit the Olympic floor and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) ain’t wasting any time falling in line.
On Monday (July 22), the USOPC made a quiet but game-changing policy update that effectively bans transgender women from competing in women’s Olympic sports, aligning with Trump’s controversial “No Men in Women’s Sports Executive Order,” also known as Executive Order 14201.

New Olympic Policy Only Allows Trans Women in Men’s Category
While the USOPC isn’t completely locking out trans athletes, they’re now saying trans women can only compete in the men’s category — which, let’s be honest, feels like a backhanded compromise. Nonbinary athletes, transgender men, and intersex athletes are also automatically lumped into the men’s division moving forward.
Per the policy, all athletes not meeting eligibility for the women’s category — including transgender women, transgender men, nonbinary individuals, and intersex athletes — shall be classified under the men’s category.
Yeah, they really said that.
Now, U.S. sports governing bodies — from track and field to swimming — must follow suit and update their own regulations to reflect this change. Whether they agree or not, the top has spoken.
Trump’s Order Takes Over The Olympic Arena
As previously reported, Trump signed Executive Order 14201 bluntly titled “No Men in Women’s Sports” back on February 5. The controversial move has been met with a firestorm of backlash from LGBTQ+ advocates, while gaining loud support from his conservative base.
The USOPC is now falling in line, stating in their official document:
“The USOPC will continue to collaborate with various stakeholders… to ensure that women have a fair and safe competition environment consistent with Executive Order 14201 and the Ted Stevens Olympic & Amateur Sports Act.”
So in other words — Trump made the call, and the committee answered it.
What This Means For Athletes Headed To The 2028 Olympics
As of now, there’s no confirmation if any current or aspiring Olympians will be banned from the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Summer Games due to the rule change.
