Another suicide bomber was killed after a US airstrike targeted the area surrounding Kabul airport.

The counterattack took place on Sunday where the drone strike reportedly took out a vehicle that contained explosives and other destructive materials. According to the New York Post, a child was killed during the airstrike after a rocket struck their neighborhood.

“U.S. military forces conducted a self-defense unmanned over-the-horizon airstrike today on a vehicle in Kabul, eliminating an imminent ISIS-K threat to Hamad Karzai International airport,” spokesman Capt. Bill Urban said in a statement to the outlet.

As previously reported, the U.S. government was issued a warning to remove all military personnel by August 31st or face an imminent threat from the Taliban. On Thursday, a suicide bomber attack left 13 US military members dead along with 160 civilians. Several were injured in the attack which led to the Taliban increasing their security efforts.

Evacuations are continuing at Kabul International Airport as the deadline to remove all troops is rapidly approaching.
