An alarming and very upsetting video shows the horrific moments a Black teen boy with autism gets brutally beaten by three people on a New York City subway.

The clip that started making its rounds on Monday shows the young boy being dragged off of the train by an aggressive young woman wearing a Chicago Bulls sweatshirt. The defenseless teen tries to get the girl off of him but she continues to pull him off the northbound A train at the 181st Street–Fort Washington Avenue station. While looking around for help, she yells at him “Walk! Walk!” as she pulls him onto the busy rush-hour platform.

In the background, a male voice can then be heard yelling the N-word followed by “alert.”
Moments later someone else socks him in the face then others from the group follow with multiple punches. As the victim’s glasses were yanked from his face someone in the background yells out, “Fight back!” According to the NYPD’s 34th Precinct’s Facebook post, the boy was punched repeatedly in the head and face and suffered a cut on his lip, and needed stitches.

“WANTED FOR ASSAULT: On Friday, March 10, 2023, at approximately 5:30 PM inside the 181 Street and Fort Washington Avenue
subway station, the subjects pictured did punch the victim in the head and face repeatedly causing a laceration to the victim’s lip. Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA

So what happened to the other teens who are responsible for the crime?

So far, no arrests have been made yet. However, the 15-year-old’s mother spoke exclusively to Eyewitness News and did not want to be identified for fear of her and her son’s safety. She’s also now worried about the impact this will have on his mental health.

“I refuse to watch that video. Nobody wants to see their kid being assaulted,” said his mother. “You can’t pile up on a kid like that,” said Florencia Lozano.

New York City Transit President Richard Davey released a statement and called the video “heartbreaking and disturbing.”

“Our hearts are with the young man seemingly being senselessly victimized. No one should be subject to this sort of hateful harassment while they are riding with New York City Transit, and the MTA is fully cooperating with the NYPD in its investigation into the incident.”

As police are now searching for two females and one male, NYPD Hate Crimes is now looking into the attack because of anti-Black slurs that were yelled at the teen during the incident.
