UPDATE: 33-Year-Old Woman Dead, Two More Reportedly Fighting For Their Life After Getting Crushed During A Stampede At GloRilla Concert
As we previously reported, nine people were trampled at a Rochester, New York, concert to see Memphis rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes Sunday night.
Lt. Nicholas Adams said officers responded at 11:05 p.m. to initial reports of gunshots fired inside Rochester’s Main Street Armory. After arriving at the scene, officers found multiple injured individuals; however, following an investigation, they later found none of the injuries were consistent with gunshot wounds. At 12:11 a.m., GloRilla tweeted, “I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf 😢😢😢praying everybody is ok 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼.”

It was noted that the massive stampede happened after the concert was over and when the rappers already left.
According to an updated report by News10NBC, a 33-year-old female died from her injuries, officials said. Two victims who were also taken via ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital after the incident, remain in critical, life-threatening condition. The other six people were transported by private vehicle to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Armory was constructed in 1905 for military units but over the years it turned into a venue to host circuses, events as well as concerts. According to its website, the main arena can hold up to 5,000 attendees.
While speaking with the outlet, one attended detailed the chaos: “All I know, it was a lot of running. A lot of people got hurt. I see people on the ground, like hurt badly,” one attendee told News10NBC. “It was deathly packed. So I knew I had to get up out of there,” he added.
So far, Glorilla has not provided another statement following news of the concert that has sadly turned deadly.
This tragic incident comes two years after Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert in Houston that left hundreds injured and ten people dead including a 9 year old boy. The child incurred severe damage to his brain, kidney, and liver after being “kicked, stepped on, and trampled, and nearly crushed to death,” according to a lawsuit his family filed against Scott and the event’s organizer, Live Nation.
As of last year, more than 500 lawsuits were filed after the deadly concert. The biggest one came from a Texas-based lawyer who filed a $2 billion lawsuit against the artist — adding to the legal woes faced by Scott and other parties involved in the ill-fated concert in Houston.
