Lt Steve Dorris of Baytown previously spoke out to give a few details, explaining that the victim Pamela Turner, claimed she was pregnant while the officer tried to detain her for “outstanding warrants.” Dorris also said the woman put up a fight and even used the officer’s taser on him, causing him to take out his pistol and fire off several shots at her, with one killing her.

Dorris has shared another update and confirmed 44-year-old Turner was not pregnant according to the medical examiner. However, autopsy results have not been released.

Dorris also didn’treleased the officer’s name, but said he is an 11-year veteran of the department who was trying to arrest Turner on outstanding warrants, having dealt with her previously. Dorris did note that the officer was Hispanic and did not suffer serious injuries.

“It’s a tragic event for everybody involved,” Dorris said. “Of course, our hearts go out to the family of the deceased as well as our officer.”
