NBC News Los Angeles reports that the Torrance City Attorney’s Office charged Lena Hernandez with misdemeanor battery. It was also said that the Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has issued an arrest warrant for Hernandez, who has not been apprehended yet.
As TMZ notes, the battery charges are related to an incident that occurred back October at a mall in Torrance and were reported to police later that day.
In addition to the viral staircase incident and the one that happened on Oct. 11, she was named a suspect in multiple racial incidents in Southern California. In another viral video, a Torrance father who is also Asian American, recorded the woman while she berated him in front of his 11-year-old son, who sat in the car.
While it’s unclear if he filed a report against her, law enforcement sources told TMZ there is not enough evidence for prosecutors to file criminal charges against Hernandez for the “staircase” incident at the park.
