Just days after rapper FBG Duck was tragically gunned down in Chicago, his mother is now speaking out asking the community to not commit any retaliatory shootings in his name.

LaSheena Weekly said on Friday, “I am here today to ask for peace in the city of Chicago. I am asking that his fans, friends of my son, to please not seek retaliation in the death of my son…As his mother, I want to say please put the guns down so that the generation of tomorrow can grow and live a long and healthy life.”

As we previously reported, FBG Duck (real name Carlton Weekly), was shopping Tuesday afternoon on the glitzy retail strip around 4:37 p.m. when two vehicles pulled up and four people exited before opening fire, hitting him in the chest, groin, and neck. The rapper’s mother said that he was shopping for a birthday present for his son — one of his four children — when he was killed. Weekly was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital a short time later. He was just 26-years-old.

Deputy Chief Daniel O’Shea also spoke about a possible retaliation and said, “We’re putting extra resources in the areas where we think there might be retaliation just as a precautionary measure.”
