In the latest development of NBA YoungBoy new case, the rapper is now scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in connection with an investigation into a prescription drug fraud operation. According to WAFB, the court has set his appearance for Monday, April 29.
As we previously reported, the Baton Rouge native whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, is in hot waters for his alleged involvement in a prescription drug fraud ring that spans across Utah. Authorities suspect YoungBoy of being the mastermind behind the scheme that involved fake prescriptions for promethazine and codeine being called in to multiple pharmacies in the state. Reports indicate that the fraudulent operation orchestrated by YoungBoy, along with several accomplices using fake identities, is being classified as an “ongoing criminal enterprise.”
YoungBoy, 24, was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 16, around 6:30 p.m. and was placed in Cache County jail where he remains. This arrest occurred while he was under house arrest in Weber County. He’s reportedly facing over 60 charges — including patterns of unlawful activity, unlawful conduct-pharmacy practices, identity fraud, and forgery.

More On The Case:
Per the outlet, a detailed 10-page report released post-YoungBoy’s arrest details incidents where individuals impersonated a physician to obtain controlled substances through fraudulent means. Authorities have also since arrested some of YoungBoy’s known associates during attempted pickups of these fraudulent prescriptions. Additionally, a search of YoungBoy’s Utah residence uncovered a firearm and prescription medications.
During a police interview, YoungBou has denied any knowledge of the fraudulent activities linked to the case.
YoungBoy was initially moved to Utah to serve his pre-trial on federal house arrest. His lawyers argued moving there would “keep YoungBoy out of trouble.” It’s clear he couldn’t stay out of it.
