The news was confirmed by Blount’s family who said he passed away on Sunday. As previously reported, Blount was placed in a medically induced coma after he was seriously injured during a crowd surge at the concert. He was sitting on his father’s shoulders before the man passed out due to the crowd pushing towards the stage.

Treston Blount explained to the news outlet last week that he was in the back of the crowd with his son and figured it was a safe space until Travis Scott appeared on stage, leading the crowd to push forward. Ezra fell off of his dad’s shoulders and was trampled by the crowd.

Treston couldn’t find his son when he woke up and later discovered that the child was at a nearby hospital after filing a police report at a medical tent. His major organs were damaged along with his brain being swollen and he was placed on life support.

The death toll is now up to 10.
