An Oklahoma woman was arrested two weeks after the father of her grandchild was arrested for the rape of her 12-year-old daughter.

As previously reported, 24-year-old Juan Miranda-Jara was arrested after bringing the 12-year-old victim to give birth to their daughter and said he was surprised when police arrested him. He explained that he was the father of his “girlfriend’s” baby and that the family was aware of the relationship. There were photos of the baby shower hosted by Casteneda’s family on Miranda-Jara’s now-deleted Facebook page and he listed the victim as his girlfriend.
Casteneda,34, was arrested on charges of enabling child neglect and sexual abuse. The victim’s father is also jailed for an unrelated rape charge and is currently serving a 12-year sentence.
The Tulsa Police Department also confirmed the arrest in a Facebook post.
“The investigation revealed that the victim’s mother and family members were aware of the relationship between the victim and Miranda-Jara. The family permitted the relationship, and there are photos of the family throwing a baby shower for the victim and the suspect. We can now say that the 12-year-old’s mother, Desiree Castaneda, has been arrested and charged with: Enabling Child Sex Abuse and Child Neglect.”

As for the 12-year-old victim and her newborn baby girl, Oklahoma DHS will make the decision on where to place the children due to the sensitive nature of the situation.
Miranda-Jara was charged with first-degree rape of a minor and is currently awaiting court in August.
